Why do we feel incompleted when we are alone?
Why do we try so hard to find our “other half?”

I am reading Hedwig and the Angry Inch for my English class, and there’s a song “The Origin of Love” talking about human nature and love. The authors of Hedwig and The Angry Inch got the ideas from Aristophanes’ speech from Plato’s symposium. I found a video about Aristophanes’ speech:

So, according to Aristophanes’ speech, we have to search our “other half” to find love. Hedwig believes in it and tries very hard to search his “other half,” but he ends up finding there is no his “other half.”

Maybe there is no other half, and that’s why we always feel lonely.
